PR Man Re-Brands His Own Home for $75,000
The CEO of Pop Culture PR — the #1 buzz marketing firm in the world — decided to invent an entirely new advertising concept. Darren Shuster, a veteran PR cat from the City of Angels, woke up in a cold sweat one night. The word “HomeVertisement” — the idea of using your house as public space to advertise publicly — came to him in a dream. Within 12 months, the Swedish telecom company, RebTel (short for Rebel Telephone) hired the agency to get at least 25 million people’s attention. The company doubled the amount of attention globally and competed strongly with Skype for North American media attention and buzz. CNBC and BusinessWeek described the effort to become “the world’s first telecom-sponsored home in America.”
