From the I’ve-Been-In-The-PR-Business-For-17-Years Department:
After working with a Wall Street Journal/ MarketWatch reporter recently on a CEO-Business-Advertising story, I bumped into a much welcomed reminder:
There are still passionate, real, thinking, inquisitive reporters in the world. Habitually checking facts, engaging in multiple conversations, obsessing over details, follow-up emails, clarification requests at all hours of the night, quality time on the phone, asking tough questions, great listening skills.
The forthcoming story (about my client) will likely be some combination of negative, neutral and positive news reporting about my client. And that’s exactly the point. How refreshing in this world of Microburst Journalism!
Cheers to the unnamed WSJ/MarketWatch reporter. You know who you are!
